The design and build construction of a new Builders Merchants Depot for MPS, one of the largest independent builders merchant in the country, consisting of a15,000ft2 warehouse and sales area, along with 80,000ft2 of storage/sales yard areas, together with all associated external works.

In line with our green credentials, the planning authorities “ low energy requirements” and our clients commitment to the environment the building was designed to the highest insulation levels, very low air leakage requirements combined with low water and electricity consumption. To assist with minimising solar gain, the 2 glazed elevations have been sheltered with Brise Soleil. The yard areas are a combination of tarmac and concrete drained with through a series of line drain channels. The surface water SUDS was achieved by using the very latest attenuation technology, designed and supplied by Polypipe, the Rigistorm-XL attenuation pipes combined with the Stormcheck flow control device stored and controlled the water discharge off of site.  

The construction of this units was traditional pad foundations to support a steel framed structure, with highly insulated composite cladding and curtain walling. Sophisticated lighting and heating controls were also utilized, together with extensive CCTV, sophisticated alarm systems, intercom and keypad entry systems, CAT 6 data cabling, sliding gates and Palisade fencing have all added to the high security requirements for this new sales facility, for yet another happy customer.
