A vacant parcel of scrub land located on Featherstone Road in Wolverton Mill. The site has not been previously developed and is one of the last undeveloped sites in this area. The new building will occupy approximately 40,000ft2 on a 0.72-hectare site.
This new 2 storey development will consist of the erection of an industrial unit with ancillary office accommodation, new vehicular and pedestrian access off of Featherstone road, together with all external works, landscaping, parking and extensive remodelling of the site.
The rear service yard incorporates an HGV turning circle, manoeuvring areas, bin stores, cycle parking together with dedicated parking for 6 HGV’s
Office space, meeting rooms and ancillary areas are all located on the northern elevation, this means as the windows are overlooking Featherstone Road and the footpath beyond, they are orientated to benefit from excellent quality light, this will also minimalize solar overheating due to direct sunlight exposure. The energy requirement of the building will be reduced along with the cooling load, which will again enhance the efficiency, making the construction more sustainable.
The development also benefits from the office area being recessed into the envelope, combine this with enhanced cladding aesthetics to the front elevations , including a striking choice of regency blue and grey “Vivex” cladding panels that help to identify the main entrance.
This building complies fully with Secure By Design requirements and achieved a BREEAM “Excellent” rating. This contract was also registered under the Considerate Constructors Scheme.
