Another prestigious design and build project comprising the construction of a 100,000ft2 headquarters and production facility, complete with 1st floor offices, warehousing research and development areas and production space.
This bespoke building consists of a steel framed structure with highly insulated vertical composite cladding and feature rain screen panelling to the main elevations. These feature elevations are complimented by the use of ribbon windows, curtain walling screens and a projecting glazed atrium light well, sitting over the reception area.
Internally the office and production spaces have specialist designed and installed Mechanical, Electrical, Air Conditioning and Ventilation installations, whilst the production space has under floor heating installed within the slab. Externally the works comprise of concrete service yards, tarmac carparks, block paved carparks and footways, full perimeter fencing, gates and automatic barriers with APNR access.
All drainage discharges through bypass interceptors, S.U.D.S soak-away/water attenuation systems which disposes of water through the existing drainage infrastructure that was specifically design to alleviate any flooding potential within this new industrial estate. A comprehensive ducting installations for BT and cable suppliers, future CCTV, signage and external lighting has been installed along with extensive new services to the site, HV and LV power, a new substation, gas, water and BT.
The extensive use of recycled materials that comply with Green Guide "A" Rated Materials, FSC timber, materials with 0-rated GWP and ODP, water and waste monitoring, high insulation and low "U" values, photo voltaic panels and low air permeability allowed us to construct a very efficient and environmentally friendly building for our client, further enhancing the green credentials of this project.
The scheme includes Secure by Design requirements and environmental improvements including a comprehensive diverse native landscape planting scheme, bird boxes, bat boxes, log piles and Lacewing habitat.
The contract was run using the principals of the Considerate Constructors Scheme and achieved a BREEAM 'Very Good' standard.
